I-70
closed Thurs., Oct. 7 from 6 a.m. to 6
p.m. Heading to Indianapolis International
Airport this Thursday? Don't forget about "A
Greener Welcome," a major civic
beautification project intended to create a more
appealing east-west corridor for downtown
Indianapolis. To help ensure the safety of
thousands of volunteers, part of I-70 will be
closed for about 12 hours. Passengers and
visitors coming to the airport are advised that
I-70 between I-65 to the east
and I-465 on the west will be closed from 6 a.m.
to 6 p.m. Interchanges along the route,
including Sam Jones Expressway, Illinois Street,
West Street, and others, will be closed. Note
that I-70 west of I-465 to the airport at
Exit 68 (and beyond) will remain
open. Please plan ahead and allow
ample time to reach IND on October
7. For suggested detours, see http://www.agreenerwelcome.org/.

Proposed
airline mergers: What impact could they have on
IND? We
constantly monitor the latest airline
industry news and trends. With potential mergers
between United and Continental Airlines as well
as Southwest and AirTran Airways, it's clear the
industry is adjusting its business model in
light of ongoing uncertainties in the global
economy. The good news is that IND has a diverse
mix of passenger carriers, which is key to
maintaining low fares and overall airport
strength.

Talk to TSA:
Share your feedback Passenger safety and security
is a top priority at Indianapolis International.
To engage and inform the traveling public,
the Transportation Security
Administration has created "Talk to
TSA," a Web-based feedback system where passengers
can submit questions, comments, or concerns about
their airport security experience. TSA says
comments will be directed to those responsible for
customer service at the airports for which
feedback is received. More information is
available on the TSA Blog. Check it
out!
