The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) conducted a two-day, full-scale multi-agency mock disaster training exercise June 22 and 23, 2010. Required under the Federal Aviation Administration’s Regulation Part 139 every three years, the drill is used to evaluate the airport’s emergency operations plan. Critical functions such as incident command and control, rescue methods and procedures, and triage of injured victims are assessed. Participants included individuals and teams from more than 30 emergency response and mutual aid agencies and organizations in the greater Indianapolis area.
