Since before the United States entered World War II, the United Service Organizations (USO) has served as a bridge between the American public and the U.S. military.
In times of peace and war, the USO provides a variety of services to servicemen and servicewomen. These services include operating airport centers offering military personnel a place of respite and refreshment when traveling.
