Alfred Bennett was reappointed to the Indianapolis Airport Authority board by the Hendricks County Board of Commissioners in 2016 after previously serving for 11 years. After holding several positions in the Indiana Department of Corrections, Bennett founded Bennett Associates, a criminal justice consulting firm specializing in quality assurance operations of jails and prisons. Bennett Associates has helped evaluate the operations of facilities throughout the United States and has provided numerous assessments at the request of federal, state and local municipalities. He assists both local and international governmental agencies and private firms with the design, construction and operation of correctional facilities.
Bennett serves as chairman of the Greater Indianapolis Foreign Trade Zone (GIFTZ) board, a non-profit entity that helps foster key economic development efforts for Indiana. He is an auditor and consultant for the American Correctional Association and is a recipient of the Chairman’s Award. He is a graduate and distinguished alumnus of Anderson University and holds a master's degree from Indiana State University. Bennett was presented with the Sagamore of the Wabash award by Governor Otis R. Bowen, M.D., and has also been honored as a Kentucky Admiral and Colonel.
