Temperature Controlled Facilities

The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) is committed to expanding and sustaining its support of special needs air cargo, specifically temperature-controlled product. The IAA has implemented a 300,000 square foot air cargo facility with almost 50 acres of apron so that the largest of aircraft, like the 747-8F, will have plenty of room to taxi right up to the facility. The facility meets the industry’s regulatory needs for temperature-controlled compliance for cargo.

Specialized Logistics Providers

IND is home to the second largest FedEx Express operation. According to Airports Council International North America, IND is the nation’s eighth largest cargo facility; internationally, it ranks 21st. IAA is actively engaged in partnering with local, national and international businesses, freight forwarders and cargo airlines to pursue new services and/or streamlined shipping operations.
